So the archer skill we are forced to get.

does it affect the dmg on the THIRD shot from longbows.

Most probably not. The 3rd longbow shot is not considered a skill. It should deal slightly extra damage than the first two shots, but it shouldn't follow the skill's formula.

well that's the theory. What I really want to know is if someone actually tested it out using npc weaps

Since Piercing Shot is a lv 1 skill, you can just test it out yourself with a new Archer. This also works best since low level mobs have negligible Defense.

1. Use skill Lv 1 Piercing Shot a few times on the same monster, get an average.
2. Use 3rd shot a few times on the same monster type, get an average.
3. Upgrade Piercing Shot to Lv 2.
4. Repeat steps 1 and 2. Try to keep your Physical Attack the same (don't change equipment).

I've observed it all my sharpshooter life and I am fairly certain that its level doesnt affect 3rd shot damage. On top of that, the third shot and pierce shot are inherently different. Pierce shot has no stagger while 3rd shot does. Hard to notice in pve, but in pvp its definitely different.

No your level of piercing shot doesn't affect the third shot of the longbow. Would be cool if it did but it doesn't. :P

Why would it affect your normal attack? It wouldn't make sense for a skill to effect your regular left click attack.

ur 3rd shot is call piecing shot but its not the same as ur skill
cos u can use the 3rd shot follow by piecing shot
