CN Dragon Nest Guide

NOTICE: Please remove all additional programs except the actual dragon nest game when you install the game. It adds programs like 360 and stuff which you do not need.

The goal of this guide is to help get interested players into the CN version of Dragon Nest. ^^;

1. Registration

First, go to this site: [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]

This is a direct link to the registration page on the site. The format of the site tends to change a lot so a direct link should be the most helpful.

You’ll first arrive at a certain page. You need to click on the little person icon on the right hand side and click the non-gold button (or try gold if that non-gold doesn't work) of the popup that shows after clicking the little person icon.

You should see the following if you did the step above successfully.

For the Chinese Name and Chinese ID#, use any of the following:

After you register successfully, you should be brought to this page:

I will be showing you how to download the game using torrents first and then I will show you how to download the game without torrents.

To use torrents, please go to [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] and download and install utorrent. Once you do so, please read on.

Go to [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]

Click on the 2nd button labeled BT (short for bit torrent). Open the file you downloaded (the torrent file) and you should see something like this:

Just press okay and wait for the CN dragon nest to finish downloading.

Another method is direct download. Usually this fails but for some high speed connections, it works. Anyway, just go to the main site again: [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]

And click on the first button this time.

You will be brought to a new page. In that page, you should see something like this. I translated it via google translate in the image so you can understand it better:

Download both files. Put them in the same folder and run the .exe. That should install the game for you.


Once finished torrenting (direct download is auto-installed already so you can skip this step), click on the .exe file and this window should open:

Note: If you are seeing random assortment of letters like mine instead of the regular chinese letters, that’s because you did not set your computer up for the chinese region. It’s not needed to play the game so don't mind it.

Press the glowing blue button. Most can tell that that means ‘next’ lol

Once that’s done, you have successfully installed Dragon Nest. Congrats! ^^;

The biggest issue with installing Dragon Nest is that it also installs a ton of random programs like 360. Just uninstall all of those after you are done installing Dragon Nest. Just remember not to uninstall Dragon Nest by accident ^^;

Now, open up Dragon Nest as an administrator:

If this opens up, you were able to open it successfully:

However, if you get an error, you probably did not open it as an administrator. If you still receive errors, then I suggest you reinstall the game.

The blue button means update. If you downloaded Dragon Nest from the torrent guide I showed you previously, this is what you’ll see since you have an outdated version of Dragon Nest. Just click the blue button and wait a bit till it completely updates the game to the latest version. Once that is done, the button should turn red.

On the left side is the server button (the big green button). Click that to bring up the server list and choose whatever server you would like to play in. You cannot update the game UNTIL you pick a server.

Now that that’s done, press the red button and get ready to play ^^; Well actually, maybe you should first read the English patch section before doing so o_o

In the second download, you'll have to delete everything that isn't NPC and Quest and then combine it with the first download.

Extra #1: How To Manually Update


First, go to [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]

There you will see something like the above (the site constantly changes but there should be a section where it says ‘patch download’). Click on the download button and download the patch. The patch application is usually very small so this should only take a second.

Open it up and you should find yourself on this screen or something like it:

Click the next button (should be obvious with the ‘N’ in the button) and you should find yourself on this very important page:

This page lists all the servers. The format of how the servers are listed is completely different from the game format:

I took the liberty to label everything accordingly so you guys don’t get confused as to which server you want.

If the update still doesn’t work, you’ll need to torrent the whole game but most recent version again.

Extra #2: Server Selection Issues!

The problem is an easy fix. Basically, your configuration in your Dragon Nest is broken/corrupted. So you need someone else’s configuration.

I uploaded my own personal configuration for all of you. It still doesn’t fix the server select screen but by using this, you can play the game. It’ll just connect you directly to my server which is the 20th server.

In your documents folder, you’ll see a DragonNest folder. Open that up and there should be a config folder. Replace that config folder with the one you downloaded.

And congrats, you’ve fixed your server selection issue!

Try out Gamebooster. It is a program that helps run games to its max efficiency and can even help find the latest updates for your drivers as well.

---Tip #2: Internet Activity

Since an MMORPG tends to use up internet bandwidth, the more internet processes running will slow down your game. So close all internet browsers, torrent applications and anything else that you might think will use up internet space (good example is your virus program).

Well, as the name implies, this part of the guide will teach you how to download and install the CN version of Dragon Nest.

To be honest, there are several ways one can go about downloading the Chinese version of Dragon Nest. Most of the direct downloads tend to fail for most people, so for this guide, I will be suggesting to use torrents. However, direct downloads will also be explained for those of you who dislike torrenting. Just as a forewarning; direct download method may fail if interrupted or for whatever variable x reason since it takes a while to finish downloading the CN Dragon Nest game.

To use torrents, please go to [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...] and download and install utorrent. Once you do so, please read on.

Go to [Only Registered Users Can See Links. Click Here To Register...]

The next page should show the same button again so click on that and once your torrent finishes downloading, open it up.

Just press okay and wait for the CN dragon nest to finish downloading.

You can still join Freedom even if you play in the other subservers because of the subserver merge system that started in January.

You need to get an invite from the guild master or junior guild leaders (senior (?)). Some people in a guild has invite privilege and you need to ask them to get in.
