Default Priest vs Paladin dmg&Solo

hello i apologize if this has been asked before but i am completely new and I am having a hard time deciding on a class.

I prefer male characters, and warrior class spammed out on the server and friends.

1)Anyways which class does most damage? I know its a tanking and support class but out of the two which one would put out most damage?

2)which one can solo pve the best? my friends all play at weird times and i will be soloing a lot of stuff most of the times. Also which one can solo abyss the best?

any information is appreciated.

It's hard to say which is better as they have different play styles.

Priests tend to depend on their relics, especially in the beginning, to output damage. For me that felt really slow and until you hit 32 it will be a slow process. Though geared right they are quite powerful and essential in later Nests.

Paladins can be either purely physical or a hybrid (leaning a bit more on magic/light). Physical types tend to spam kicks (with -50% action speed plates it's really powerful) while those going for Crusader will have Sacred Hammering which pretty much gives you ability to infinite combo.

My main is a Paladin and I prefer that over the Priest. Not necessarily because of better damage output as that really depends on your gears but because I have more skills to actually cause damage from the get go.

And both can solo as their base is the Cleric. Saints (3rd class for Priest) are known to be able to solo Nests at higher levels. I'd recommend looking at some gameplay videos too. Their ability to solo and output damage is pretty much equal (most of it depending on how well you are geared)... so it then really comes down to your style of play.

I want exactly want the OP wants. im level 15 right now, so the paladin deals more dps?
Because ive been getting mixed answers

Depends on how well you are geared in the end.

Priest will start off slow. I mean really slow until they get to about 26+ then they can start dealing more damage if geared right.

The pace of a Paladin is not as slow. It's pretty constant in terms of how you deal damage. They are a tank class so overall the Priest would deal more damage per second with their Relics.

So.. Paladins are tanks and deal not as much damage as priests which are healers and do more damage?

It depends on how much effort you put into your character in the end.

But Paladins in general, their skill focus is about defence (ie. Block, Stance of Faith, etc) especially ones going the Guardian route they are physical based. Crusaders can deal more damage though.

While Priests are healers they have more ways of increasing their damage... magic and light. Lightning Relic and Chain Lightning/Detonate are quite powerful.

When it comes to increasing damage, hidden potential for physical paladins are 5.8% phys dmg whereas for Priests and also Crusaders they have the option of 5.8% magic dmg and 8% light dmg. Now you can't exactly stack the two evenly but you have the option.

I play a physical Paladin, I can bring my physical dmg up to roughly 3k+ but I would have to sacrifice Vit and HP to do that. In a tanking role that's not going to help me much. So I opt to lower dmg to increase my HP.

Priests can get away with lower Vit/HP and up their magic damage which directly effects their healing with their relic. You'll need to read more into it if you want to know more.

I feel like paladins should have got all the howls and stomp that mercs get...
Well I made a paladin and decided to make a crusader.
Do I have to be highly funded to make a decent dmg crusader? Also, there are 3 builds, hybrid, magical, and critical, which build do you recommend? for damage and low costs
