Spoiler: Introduction 

So you're wondering why you should gift NPCs, well for one they give you items in the mail when you become closer to them, most of the time they contain gifts such as gems, all the towns gives crudes except Saint Haven in which they give average gems.

They also increase faction points towards the group they are in, in which you exchange those points in order to buy certain items in Saint Haven.

Throughout gifting, you'll also be able to talk to them and ask/answer questions, try your best not to click rapidly as most people do, you are trying to find the best answer to get more fondness with them. Giving a wrong answer will increase their aversion.

Eventually you'll reach 2 noticeable areas where they give you a gift which will increase more fondness as you give each gift, keep this until they reach 100% and then you can sell it to the NPC if you please. The other gift is a memory regenerator where you can hear their voices, I usually keep the amazing ones like Kevin and Irine and NPC the rest. Some NPCs will give a friendship photo in your album as well.

This is debatable and can be argued, but seeing that obtaining 100% friendship doesn't provide discounted crest pouches or increased NPCing your items sales price, it's not worth it unless you're aiming towards getting a photo in your friendship album.

But who gives out a photo? I don't know who does, except Irine (still just her) as of Cerberus patch (10.26.11)

However, if you're curious about Carderock and Ironwood, it's
Bailey > May > Chandler
Steve > Deckard

Saint Haven is much more complicated and there is no official way to doing so without working on more than 2 people.

Q: What happens when I get 100 aversion?
A: It resets your friendship and aversion to 0 for that NPC

Q: What are those faction points for?
A: You are suppose to trade those in for goodies that depends on each group. You can check out what you are able to obtain by looking at the groups in your friendship menu (Default key: Y) and going to Alliance

Q: Can I still gift even though they have reached 100 friendship?
A: Why yes you can. You can still obtain gifts and alliance points with them.

Don't you become friends with bailey just by talking? Idk if there's a req. Maybe lvl 9 or something (as for when i first came to town on my main or alt he already had his <3 on the minimap for me to steal)

I don't quite remember, but I'm sure it's not around level 9, it's probably something to do with the music quest you get from May then again I can check on my level 16 archer since I only used it as a mule for my golden marathons.

I have 100% with Bailey, Kevin, Hubert, Rupert and Irine, so most of my experience is from what I gathered from them which is why there's so much unfinished work, and it sure looks messy as hell, the layout anyway lol.

You have to have the Cloth Chaser title to become friends with him.
It's quite easy to get by the time you get to level 9, but since it's random when the lionclothes drop, I didn't get mine until quite a bit later.

Honestly I think I'll make this less of a cluster if I remove all their items and only leave up the item that gives them the best affection and how easily obtained it is, any suggestions would you say? The reason I'm thinking of this is because Meat Pie is not even worth crafting to give to Kevin or anyone else compared to their other gifts and how much more easy it is to obtain them, same goes with pie crumbs for May versus the spongecake for her, it's not worth the effort of getting an extra .12 when you can use the honey to save Chandler from going to 100 aversion.

I think it's nice to have all the giftable items there, just in case some1 prefers hunting in one dungeon versus another. You could just add a little note saying what you just said.

Are the locations listed simply the best location to hunt them?

The locations are from personal experience from what seems to be the most effective, which is why I'm considering on just removing all the gifts and leaving the best one up there which reflects our current version. You wouldn't honestly go out of your way to make Meat Pies for Kevin when they don't even raise that much (I actually did this before until I looked up how much boost each item gives and it makes me sad that I wasted time hunting for meat in Nexus and Pie in Lair) <_<
