Crap Graphics

soooo i have an old computer with stock components x.x so i have very bad graphics :/

pretty bad right :P

just curious anyone else have crap graphics or just my nub self?

How crap is crap? Provide the details of your card and probably gfx drivers, too. That fountain proves that your gfx card, while probably crap, can handle some graphics.

My initial suspicion is either mipmap or anisotropic settings. Try setting mipmap to high and aniso to low or disabled.

ran a driver update and said it was up to date.

How did you get this information? Try using GPU-Z

Also, ATI is now owned by AMD. Try getting the latest drivers from them. Don't trust the driver update.

i tried updating with amd.com but it just said to download the catalyst program.. idk how to use it or how to update the driver with that

Hmm... from the download page and your gpu-z it appears you have the correct drivers.

I don't know if the gfx card is supposed to handle it. Minimum spec say Nvidia 7600. From what I gather x1050 is even lower than that, so you're lucky to be running it at all.

Precisely. If you're in the market for a gaming CPU, I suggest you hold off for a few more months. Ivy Bridge will be released not too far from now, finally get to make use of Gen3 boards! And a 7970 :D Or 7990 if they release it o:!

Upgrading your graphics card from an older machine not be a cinch. If you're using a stock machine, you probably have a 300W power supply. Most new age graphics cards (medium to high end) require at least 500W to be on the safe side. You'll also need a motherboard that has PCIe x16 2.0 to make the best use of your GPU. You can easily find prebuilts with your specs online o-o; Or build one yourself. I suggest the latter if you really wanna put quality parts into your machine.

I remember having to play on those graphics. :c I liked the low-quality better before they did an overhaul on the graphics engine or whatever they did (before Cerb patch).

But I got a new machine and I play the game on high settings at a constant 60+ FPS. It's pretty amazing for a while until you get used to it.
