Question

My computer is ancient
but im planning to by a new GPU

Computer Specs:
Processor- Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 3.00GHz (2CPUs)-does hyperthreading slows the game?
Memory- 2GB PC2 5300
Video Card- Radeon x700 SE 256MB

any advice for compatible and efficient graphic cards for Dragons Nest?
Motherboard has one PCI Express x16slot(supports PCI express Bus specification v1.0a compliant)-does this mean that it is version 1?
can a v2.0 card work in it?

No AGP slots

need your advice ) a reply will be greatly appreciated.

You should more likely consider upgrading the CPU of yours. It doesn't actually have 2 CPU's,but that's just the effects of Hyper-Threading enabled. It's like a good attempt at splitting processes and such.Without a better CPU,you'll just have a graphics card that is unable to match the CPU's power A.K.A bottlenecking.

Default Can someone help me?

How come I have a like a 512mb graphics card + 96mb built-in one and i can only run on low quality? I've tried to switch to normal and high, but it was just to laggy. Here are my system specs:

Operating System: Microsoft Windows XP Professional (5.1, Build 2600)
System Maufacturer: Dell Computer Corp.
System Model: OptiPlex GX270
BIOS: Phoenix ROM BIOS PLUS Version 1.10 A03
Processor: Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 CPU 2.26GHz
Memory: 2046MB RAM
Page file: 1133MB used, 2809MB available
DirectX Version: DirectX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904

The 512MB Card I'm using is an EVGA NVIDIA GeForce 6200
1440 x 900 (32bit) (60Hz)
Monitor: Plug and Play Monitor

I'm planning to get this graphics card to replace my current 6200 and maybe it will allow me to play DN smoother and more amazing as the difference is huge between all the qualities.

VisionTek ATI Radeon HD 3650 1 GB DDR2 AGP Graphics Card 900284

I have a DVI cable which I am using and a DVI IN in the next slot which I take is the same thing, but I doubt it, but anyway.. will this graphics card work better for my system?

Will someone also please explain to me what DDR2 or what DDR5 is? I'm confused about that too. Im guessing its another slot and cable to use your graphics card, but I'm not sure about that either. Please respond quickly =) Hoping to get the graphics card for christmas. Thanks Afterwards!

Ok so even with limited budget, I was able to buy a decent graphics card (Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti) for the sole purpose of playing games (particularly Dragon Nest) and I am able to play the game with no errors, crashes or whatsoever. But the thing is sometimes the frame rate is slow and gets choppy, so I was wondering if my desktop system isn't good enough for this game or if there is some troubleshooting I can do to improve my gaming experience.

Here is the specs of my computer:

Motherboard: Biostar N68S3
Processor: AMD Athlon II X4 (4CPUs) 3.0Ghz
Memory: 6GB (2 sticks, 2GB and 4GB) Corsair DDR3 1333
Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 550 Ti 1GB DDR5 192bit
PSU: Generic 600watts
DirectX version: DirectX 9.0C
Operating System: Windows XP Professional SP3 32 bit

I installed the latest driver for my graphics card and my desktop has a nice cooling system with 3 in-take fans and 1 exhaust fan. Oh and you probably guessed by now that only 4GB of the 6GB RAM is being recognized by the system since it is only 32 bit. I'll go buy a copy of Windows 7 when I have enough money but still I think 4GB should be good enough for this game. Any help will be greatly appreciated. (^_^)
