interested in making sm

I was looking at other forums and its seems that some people hate SM I really want to make one but need some tips. It seems that most them just don't know what they are doing and I don't want to end up doing the same thing.

I'm not that experienced at SM, but here's what I know:

-Don't scatter the mobs when in a party, instead help push them into a mob.
-You're not that much of a tanker, don't give your Priest a hard time, dodge more.

People just don't like SMS because they can spam their skills and get kills with it, and its considered unskilled way of killing someone. If you want people to not complain, you gotta learn how to juggle. Search for YangYang on youtube or on this website for a tutorial.

This isn't true at all. Swordmasters have an easier PvP learning curve than most other classes, but a skilled player can beat a clueless SM quite easily.
And someone who complains about losing to "skill spam" will most likely complain about any kind of lose.

You're quite correct. Most of the SM hate is because a lot of people are drawn to the class and do all sorts of stupid things.
Mainly it's their lack of manners/etiquette.

I personally have never played a Swordmaster, but some tips:

• While SMs are a DPS class, other classes have better DPS.
  Sharpshooters and Elementalist are very powerful, and they (especially the Ele) can nuke crowds of enemies down faster than you.
  That said, you're better armored and quite agile. Swordmasters may not have the best damage, but they are quite versatile. They have decent melee and ranged attacks, defense, speed, agility, superarmor.

• SM gear takes a lot of work and/or money to tune up, and their gear is quite important.
  This is even more important for Magic SMs/Lunar Knights than Physical SMs/Gladiators since Magic Attack is more difficult to raise than Physical.
  -
• Be mindful of mob control. Each attack has various properties other than damage (heavy knockback, knockdown, launch). Learn how each of them affects mobs and try to pile them up instead of spreading them out. This helps other classes kill them more quickly.
  -
• This one is universal, but most of the complaints about SMs I see are about their attitude.
  Try not to be rude in parties. Remember that this is merely a game, and at the end of the day it doesn't matter who made you wipe in Cerberus Nest (or similar situations).
  Instead of getting upset, try learning from the experience and you'll be bound to do better each time.

Um... have you been to the Nexon forums? People were posting up videos of noob swordmasters who were barely winning in pvp by spamming their skills.
